Mock Interview

I thought the mock interview process was a very good exercise. It gave us experience in being in the interview situation as well as allowed us to write resumes, cover letters, and follow-up letters.

Most of the stuff we did in this exercise I had done before so there wasn't a whole lot of new things that I learned. It did allow me to get better at it though. If I were to go back and do it again I would have made my cover letter in a different format and it would be longer. I would also have gone over my resume a couple more times.

Besides these two minor items I thought I did well. The interview itself went pretty smooth and I wouldn't change much at all about how I did there.

Last week we gave presentations in class on a topic of our choice.

My personal favorite was Bob's. I enjoyed this presentation for several reasons. First of all, Bob did an excellent job on catering to his audience. He obviously knew and took into account the fact that he was presenting to a class of college students because his presentation was on touring through Europe as a student. I lived in Europe for three years when I was younger and have seen most of the places he showed, but he did a good job of giving Europe through the eyes of a college aged person.

The second reason I enjoyed this presentation was because I am actually planning on going to Europe for spring break with some of my friends. I think that his presentatino has given me a good head start and a lot of good pointers for when we go.
